IBEW LOCAL 51 WORK PICTURE UPDATE
POWER:
There are multiple upcoming transmission projects planned within the jurisdiction. While we experienced continual delays throughout the summer, activity is now beginning to pick up significantly. We are very optimistic that these projects will be underway by Fall, and the overall work outlook is looking very promising.
There are no open work orders.
JOURNEYMAN LINEMAN:
Book 1 Count: 20
Book 2 Count: 8
LINE CLEARANCE: Work continues to remain steady in the jurisdiction for line clearance at this time.
GETTING ON THE BOOKS - VERY IMPORTANT
There are NO OPEN WORK ORDERS. When we have open calls, we will call from those that are already on the books.
If you are interested in working in Local 51, GET ON THE BOOKS! All individuals are required to get on the books in person initially and at least once per year thereafter.
If you have met the in-person requirements, you may re-sign online by visiting the IBEW51.org website. The form can be found under the JOBS TAB titled GET ON THE BOOKS.
WIND FARMS
We have a limited amount of work on Wind Farms. No open orders at this time.
SOLAR FARMS
Most work is being performed by inside locals including Local 193, Local 146 and Local 34. Our work is limited to the substation portions of the solar farm projects. At this time, our workload remains very limited.
