Members living in Douglas County your support is needed on the Harvest Ridge Wind Farm.

Thursday, May 30
4:00 - 5:30 p.m. – Free Supper for Project Supporters at Flesor’s Candy Kitchen (right around the corner from the Community Building at 101 W Sale St.).

6:00 p.m. – Public Hearing. Voice your support for the Wind Farm at the Tuscola Community Building, 122 W. North Central Avenue.

Cornerstone Open Enrollment May 1

Cornerstone Open Enrollment for IBEW 51 & 193 has officially begun. All members should be receiving a letter in the mail going over the open enrollment and the coverages available. Open Enrollment closes Friday, June 28, 2019, with coverage going into effect on July 1, 2019. Cornerstone's enrollment line is 224-770-5305. A recap of the benefits available during this enrollment include:

Short Term Disability:

• Benefit pays on day 15 of injury or illness for up to 24 weeks.
• Flat rate benefit options of either $250 or $500 a week.
• Higher benefit option based off of a members income. 50% of your earnings.
• Stackable with other benefits up to 100% of pre-disability earnings. (Lineco, Decatur Plan, Health and Welfare, etc.)
• Tax free benefit.

Long Term Disability:

• Pays after a 180 day waiting period (Short-term goes for 180 days).
• Flat rate $2,500 benefit option for up to 5 years.
• 60% of income option for up to 10 years.
• Pre-existing conditions covered after 12 months of continually being on the plan.
• Tax free benefit.

Life Insurance w/ AD&D:

• Guaranteed approved coverage for member, spouse, and dependents.
• Member coverage up to $200,000.
• Spousal coverage of $25,000 or $50,000.
• $10,000 dependent coverage.

If a member is currently enrolled in coverage they do not need to do anything; however, changes and/or increase coverage can be done at this time.

Signup for Benefits Extended

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As some of you may be aware, we are currently in an open enrollment for the voluntary supplemental coverages which include Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and Life Insurance. The open enrollment period closes at the end of October, so there are only a couple weeks left! You should have received a packet in the mail with additional information from Cornerstone Benefits Management, if not please give them a call at 224-770-5305. All of these benefits are guaranteed approved, meaning members cannot be denied coverage even if you have any pre-existing conditions that would decline you for an individual policy.

Below are some key points of the different coverages available:

 

The Voluntary STD coverage offered to you provides the following income protection:

• Option A pays $250 or $500 weekly benefit

• Option B pays 50% based on your income (including overtime)

• Stackable to 100% of pre-disability earnings

• Starts paying on DAY 15 if you can’t work due to injury or sickness

• STD benefits pay for a maximum of 24 weeks

• All pre-existing conditions are covered after 12 months. 

 

The Voluntary LTD coverage offered to you provides the following income protection:

• Option “A” pays a flat $2,500 per month for 5 years, stackable to 60% of pre-disability earnings. Works with other LTD benefits (40% option)

• Option “B” pays 60% of monthly income up to 10 years

• There is a 180 day waiting period for LTD benefits (STD covers up to 180 days)

• Pre-Existing Conditions are covered after 12 months

 

The Voluntary Life Insurance with AD&D:

·         Guaranteed Issue for members up to 200k! (No health questionnaire’s, physical exams, etc.)

·         Spousal coverage available up 50k

·         Dependent coverage for dependent up to age 26. (10k)

·         Life Insurance includes accidental death and dismemberment. (Would pay double)
