Read MoreExelon announced today that their Board has given CEO, Chris Crane, approval to go forward with the retirement of Clinton Power Station effective June 1, 2017 and Quad Cities effective June 1, 2018. Both plants would remain open if their Next Generation Energy Plan would win approval in the Illinois legislative spring session, currently ongoing. This not only will be devastating to our members but to several surrounding communities. Call your legislators and demand they fix this situation before we lose all generation in Illinois. Dynegy is shutting down at least 2400 megawatts and Exelon another 1100 MW's at Clinton alone.
